Green Living Tips - 7 Simple Tips to Go Green and Save Money

At a time when the world faces increasing global warming, as more and more damaging greenhouse gases pour out into the atmosphere, more and more folks are questioning the easy way to go green. As well as the harm to the environment, there are issues with the economy, which create the requirement for green living tips that may also save the consumer money.
The excellent news is that it's completely straightforward to do. In truth, done properly it's hard not to save money while helping the planet recover. So, here are seven straightforward green living tips that will also save you cash.
1. The 1st green living tip is to lower your winter heating by at least one degree. If you can stand two or 3 degrees lower, then all the better. You will reduce power use and still feel comfortable. Then in summer, let the aircon chill the house less. That's a excellent start in how to go green.
two. Set your washer to wash garments in cold water. Modern cleaning powders do not need hot water, and heating the water is what consumes the majority of the energy the washing machine uses.
3. Don't use the dryer to dry your clothes! That is not the simplest way to go green. It uses way too much energy and it's costly too. Hang your garments out to dry. The air is great at drying garments - your grandmama could have told you that.
four. Compact fluorescent light ( CFL ) bulbs use ten percent of the electricity a standard bulb desires and they last ten times longer. So, change your light bulbs. And if you want to learn how to go green in a bigger way with lights, take a look at the new LED bulbs. They can be twice as efficient as the CFL bulbs.
5. Reduce water use. Check all taps for leaks and fix any you find. Take shorter showers, don't bath, and consider getting a new toilet cistern that may use less than two gallons of water per flush. Standard cisterns use some three and a half gallons. Using less water uses less energy and saves you money!
six. Walk rather than drive for very short trips. Use a cycle for moderate trips, and only use the car if you really have to. Gas is dear and it pollutes the atmosphere. Save on burning it and you may save on your cash too, as well as help the environment.
7. When you have to drive, keep your speed down to around fifty five miles an hour if at all possible. Your auto's engine will be running at its most efficient at that speed burning the minimum quantity of gas. Practice driving smoothly as well . Don't accelerate fast from a standing start, and don't brake hard. This is the best way to go green with your vehicle, though using public transport, walking and cycling is even better.
