Environmentally Friendly Products

Environmentally friendly products and processes can be categorized in different ways. There are detergents and sprays that are considered environmentally friendly because they do not release harsh chemicals into the environment. There are environmentally products that are made from recycled materials and help reduce the amount of natural resources used to produce these items. You can even dispose of your computer components and used batteries in a more environmentally friendly way. Knowing what kinds of products to buy and how to dispose of your items properly can help you be a better friend to the environment on a daily basis.

Substitute Environmentally Friendly Detergents for Harsh Chemical Detergents

Your clothing detergent may do a great job cleaning your clothes, but it can also contain some harsh chemicals that are damaging to the environment. If you are making an effort to be more aware of how you affect the environment with the products you use, you can substitute a more environmentally friendly detergent for the one you're currently using. These detergents are just as effective as their harsher counterparts but don't include the chemicals that most detergents have. An added bonus is that you may find that red, itchy skin goes away once you eliminate these harsh chemical detergents from your life.

Substitute Environmentally Friendly Cleaners for Harsh Chemical Cleaners

The cleaners you use may be effective at cutting grease and grime, but they can also be releasing harmful chemicals into the air. In addition to being harmful to the environment, these chemicals are not good for your health. Many environmentally friendly substitutes are now on the market. These alternatives are often made with plant products and other natural materials so that they have the same cleaning power as harsher cleaners without the nasty chemicals. These cleaning products may even give off a fresher scent and help you control your allergies because of the reduced level of chemicals being used in your home.

Dispose of Batteries in an Environmentally Friendly Way

Used batteries still have acid in them even when they are no longer working. This acid can leak into the ground and harm the environment. You can help protect the environment by taking your batteries to a return center so they can be properly disposed of by professionals.

Dispose of Used Electronics in an Environmentally Friendly Way

Used electronics such as computers and cell phones can also leak harmful chemicals into the earth, harming the surrounding environment. You can help to minimize these effects by disposing of your used electronics safely. There are some drop-off locations for used electronics and there are also organizations that will collect them and dispose of them safely. If they are still in working order, you can even donate them to a nonprofit organization so that someone else can use them.

Making the choice to use safer products and dispose of your used items in safer ways can help you protect the environment around you so it is a safer place for your family and loved ones to live.

Eco Friendly pet health tips?
Hi everyone! I am currently working on a newsletter for the vet clinic where I work and was looking for quick input. The theme is "Going Green: Eco friendly pet tips" and will cover natural foods, biodegradable litter, composting, and other environmentally friendly products on the market for pet care. Any suggestions on what you do to promote a green pet (cat, dog, fish, pocket pet, horse, anything!) would be greatly appreciated. I just recieved the assignment today and would love to hear from as many of you as possible as soon as possible. Tell me what you do to go green. Even if it just using recycled materials, I would love to hear and share your suggestions (with your permission - so if you post, it may be published, so by posting here you are giving permission!) with our community, staff, and clientele. Also - is there one big area of focus you are interested in as pet owners? While the major article will focus on tips in general, I have a secondary and tertiary article to address a particular area of eco friendly pet care in depth. What specific themes would you (as a pet owner) want to know more about? Would you rather read more about natural diets, grooming, waste disposal, specific products.. etc? Thank you in advanced for all of your ideas and input. If any of you are interested in reading the final product, let me know and I will link you to it (it is posted online as well). Just as a note so no one gets upset - I will be posting this question under general pet, dogs, and cats to make sure I can recieve a wider range of answers! Yikes! Not a pet lover are we. Just to note though, animals on thier own are perfectly eco freindly (as they are a natural part of the environment and ecology). What makes pets not eco friendly is the support they require from humans, meaning it is the owners that are not eco friendly. All I am asking is for other people's opinions on eco friend ways for the owners to care for thier pets - reducing that impact on the environment. If there is nothing educational or informative to be gained, then don't bother to answer.

Why are individuals so concerned about an ice age, age global warming?
Every day I see something that promotes the use of environmentally friendly products which have less of an impact on the earth. I hear about new energy ideas, and I have even heard of reducing simple everyday tasks such as showering time. Why is this? How can people even say things like "we're heading toward another ice age." I cannot help but me curios as to how ridiculously stupid people are. Americans tend to excel at being uninformed, foolish, stupid and lacking any real understanding of what's going on. They are like children...so blissfully ignorant. Have you no idea that we are still in an ice age. The last ice age has not ended, it is still happening. Even the lowest level of fool should know this. Beyond all that, extensive periods of cooling on the surface of the earth is merely a natural cycle. It's something that we as human beings have no control of. As a matter of fact, increased CO2 levels will increase the over all temperature of the earth before it causes a cooling effect. Have you Americans no idea that this is merely a politicized issue which has been blown out of proportion. It is pure and simple propaganda. Now, I am not saying that the issue is entirely nonexistent, but I am saying that it has become fogged by politics. One more statement before I go. As an issue that has become politicized, I highly doubt you will see any real improvement. Politicians as a whole are incompetent. On top of that, I believe they allow greed to run rampant in situations like these. It becomes more of a marketing tool than a problem in need of a solution. How can the most elite race be so moronic and stupid.....I can only ponder. I don't hate Americans. I love the America our Four Fathers envisioned, but that America is dead. The America you and I see is no more than a sick beast that doesn't deserve to associate itself with the Four Founding Fathers.
