Green power is can also be termed as eco friendly power. The phrase is one that almost everyone is familiar with especially since people around the globe are being urged to start thinking about the planet. What defines green power?

The word ‘green' refers to being environmentally friendly. Therefore, green power is power that is generated without harming the environment. Green Power Projects draw their energy from natural resources that are renewable like rainwater for instance. It also ensures that the sources that are used are not being compromised and are sustainable for future generations to have access to them. The quality of the environment is the most important aspect while creating green energy.

What defines a green power plant?

The obvious answer to this question would be a plant that runs Green Power Projects. However there are basic guidelines that have been set down by various governments and all of these guidelines need to be met in order for a plant to be declared green. Some of the guidelines include the fact that the source of the energy needs to be renewable, Green Power Plants need to have a low impact on the environment, the plant needs to have a proper license etc.

Low emissions

Another very valid contribution that Green Power Projects have on the environment is the fact that the emissions that they set off are extremely low when compared to that of producing energy from a substance like fossil fuel. This lower emission rate ensures that the air that we breathe is cleaner.
