Eco-friendly buildings and concrete floors can complement each other

Sustainable development, eco-friendly buildings and improved manufacturing techniques may be the "buzz" words of today and indeed, an absolute necessity in the modern day but it is as equally important that our heritage is preserved.

That is one of the reasons why organisations such as the National Trust exist and there are specialist rules and regulations surrounding Grade II listed buildings which developers and businesses alike need to adhere to.

Green is most definitely gold, but there is still plenty of room for both the past and the present to live together in the same building.

Even in today's economic climate where funding is tight for restoration projects, more and more companies are realising that professional floor preparation through concrete grinding and finishing can actually not only enhance a building, but preserve our heritage and assure efficient use of finances.

When plans are put together, companies look to preserve a building's integrity and character and the current economic climate demands careful consideration to available funding, practicality, and ensure value for money tests are passed with flying colours.
Thanks to improvements in concrete polishing processes, we at Westcoast Resources now use systems such as the revolutionary HTC Superfloorâ„¢.

The system involves simple yet ingenious techniques which uses a concrete grinder process, and with careful floor preparation techniques takes an average concrete floor and quite literally transforms it into a floor surface which is even stronger and more durable than it was previously.

Further preservation or enhancement can be achieved through attractive finishes in a variety of colours if preferred.

What are options for sewage if perc testing fails on a property?
At the moment I am hunting for land and there are a few properties that are good deals because they failed perc. I know that sometimes a property fails perc but can use the mound system, but worse case scenario, is there any other way to build on failed perc property? My eventual goal is to build an eco-friendly home anyway, and I heard of a system that used human waste and converts it to fertilizer, but I can't find any facts on that. I'm sure to have a lot of questions concerning eco-friendly building at a later point, but right now the perc issue is the biggest on my mind. Any info and links if you have them would be great. Thanks!

What would make the ultimate eco friendly building? Design, parts, location, etc.?
Example: Warehouse like the obscenely large Wal-Mart DC near where I live with a green roof or brown roof. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_roof) Maybe even wind power turbines built on the roof too. Natural landscaping around it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_landscaping). Solar panels built into the car ports in the parking lot with places to plug in electric cars. Water reclimation catacombs beneath the parking lot. re-use of grey water is a great idea too.

Does anybody have any advice on building a cabin?
My fiance and I live on his parents farm, currently in a camper trailer that we pushed into an old Hog Confinment Shed. This spring we will be building a small cabin on the edge of his parents property so that we can be on the farm to help out, but yet we don't have to depend on them for things like the bathroom/shower and kitchen. We have already contacted the county we live in and on a farm it is legal to build a second home on the premisis if the person occupying it works on the farm. So legally we can do this, the only thing is that we need is to comply with sewer regulations. I was just wondering if anybody could throw out some good websites on eco friendly building? Or some thrifty, money saving ideas? Anything to help me out would we wonderful! Thanks! Do you have any info on Passive Solar Homes?
