Green Energy Sources: What Are They?

Green Energy Sources: What Are They?

More homeowners today are looking into integrating green energy sources for developing more energy efficient homes and businesses. Green energy power is the energy received from renewable sources like sun, wind, water, etc. The way they don't contribute to global warming, pollute, and other ways of destroying the planet is why green energy sources are so great.

The sun provides solar power, making it the most popular source among green energy sources. Solar energy is the energy power received directly from the sun. Solar energy proves to be the most commercially accepted source of green energy due to its multitude of usage options. With solar panels made of photovoltaic cells which turn sunlight into electricity you can power your home or business. Getting a hot water supply through the use of solar hot water collectors is another way the sun can be used to harness energy. These solar green energy source4s are easily available for sale in the market and are rising in popularity because they can be installed on the roofs of most of the homes and commercial establishments and they can benefit from the reduced usage costs.

Wind is, far and away, the most efficient source of green energy. Growing in popularity as a means of supplementing home and business electricity requirements is the wind, which has been used to power water pumps for centuries. Creating zero pollutants and not contributing to global warming is wind, the safest, cleanest green energy source. By constructing a turbine that captures the breeze to create motion, wind energy can be generated. If you want to use wind as a green energy source, it is a necessity that you live somewhere that is very windy, for unlike sunlight, a sufficient supply of wind can't be found just anywhere.

Another type of alternative energy source is water. Since not all homes are equipped with a continuous supply of water to generate the required electric power, water is less frequently used as a source of green power. The Amish still use water for generating electricity today very successfully by using conveyor belts. Energy harnessed from moving water is almost completely pollutant free and is generated from a renewable resource.

A strategy that involved investing in green energy could benefit you financially as well as ecologically. Today homeowners are looking into integrating green energy sources for developing more energy efficient homes and businesses.

I am a senior citizen (whatever that means) living in the NW corner of the beautiful state of Washington. My interests are sewing, crafting, reading and the great outdoors. My main concern though is the environment and how to make it better for those who will come after us. After all, what we do today to the environment will be here tomorrow and will affect everyone around the world. That is why I have set up my website to reflect on the way we can, in a small way, ease our burden on earth's resources and how each of us can do just that and be proud of how we are leaving this planet for our children and grandchildren because they are the ones who will benefit from how we manage this planet we call Earth.
